A pre-professional dance company offering mommy and me classes starting at age 2 all the way through intensive professional training for serious dancers. Dance Theater of Florida uses a structured syllabus based on the Vaganova method and has ABT-certified instructors who focus on building both technical skills and character in their students. Perfect for kids who want recreational classes or those pursuing dance seriously, with clear progression through numbered levels that require mastery before advancing. Your kid can start with creative movement at age 3, work through ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop, then audition for the pre-professional program at age 11. Alumni have gone on to Juilliard and major dance companies.

Dance Theater of Florida is a non-profit pre-professional youth dance company, and a premier dance education center located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Dance Theater offers a full complement of dance instruction to all levels of students. Historically, dance education was offered under Florida School for Dance Education and Dance Theater of Florida was home to the pre-professional dance company. In 2024, all offerings of dance education including the company and productions were folded into Dance Theater of Florida
