A network of nature trails through 172 acres of protected wetlands, Frenchman's Forest has four different paths including a paved trail and elevated boardwalk through cypress swamp. The preserve protects seven distinct ecosystems that are home to over 500 animal species. Good for kids who enjoy spotting wildlife like gopher tortoises, owls, and wading birds along the trails. The paved Blazing Star Trail works well for younger children, while the sandy paths offer more adventure for confident walkers. No restrooms on site, and parking is limited to just a few spots.
