About

A 569-acre natural preserve with hiking trails through coastal scrub and sawgrass wetlands, plus floating docks and kayak access to the Intracoastal Waterway. The west tract has paved and sandy trails ranging from a short quarter-mile walk to longer 2-mile hikes, with an observation tower overlooking marsh areas. Good for kids who enjoy spotting wildlife like ospreys, gopher tortoises, and rabbits along the trails. The paved Sawgrass Trail works for younger ones, while the sandy scrub trails offer more adventure for older kids who don't mind trudging through deep sand.

Juno Dunes is a natural area in Juno Beach with two separate tracts where families can explore Florida's outdoor spaces on their own schedule—it's open from sunrise to sunset every single day of the year. The oceanfront tract lets you hike up to the highest natural point in Palm Beach County with water views, which is pretty cool if you want to get some elevation and see something different than the typical flat terrain around here. There's no structured class or program component, so you're really just taking advantage of the trails and natural landscape whenever works for your family, and costs vary depending on what activities you do there (like if you're horseback riding versus just hiking). This is a great option if you have kids who like being outdoors and exploring nature at their own pace rather than following a formal lesson plan.
