Environmental education programs operate out of the River Center along the Loxahatchee River, where staff have been teaching kids about watershed science and river ecology for generations. The programs focus on fostering environmental stewardship through hands-on learning about the diverse river ecosystem. The River Center is located on the east side of Burt Reynolds Park on US Highway 1. While the natural area offers good wildlife viewing, the trails aren't well-maintained so it works better for older kids who can handle uneven terrain. Your kid will get interactive exposure to real watershed science and the chance to learn from scientists who actively monitor water quality and river health.
