About

A hidden 27-acre preserve along the Intracoastal with a short trail that leads to either a viewing platform for birdwatching or a boardwalk into the mangroves. Kids can spot blue land crabs, herons, woodpeckers, and manatees in this maritime hammock and mangrove ecosystem. Great for nature-loving families who don't mind a bit of adventure finding the entrance on Corrine Street with no clear signage. There's no designated parking, so you'll need to park about half a mile away and walk in, but that keeps this gem quiet and pristine.

Ocean Ridge Natural Area is a gorgeous 27-acre spot right on Lake Worth Lagoon where kids can explore native Florida ecosystems and get outside to really experience nature — whether that's walking trails, biking, or even arriving by boat if you're up for an adventure. The natural area is open from sunrise to sunset every single day of the year, so it's perfect for families who want flexible outdoor time without worrying about restricted hours. This is a great place for kids of any age who love being outdoors and learning about Florida's natural environment, and the variety of ways to explore (on foot, by bike, or by water) means it works for different activity levels and interests.
