About

A 200-foot viewing platform with gazebos overlooks constructed wetlands where kids can spot great blue herons, roseate spoonbills, white pelicans and wood storks along with alligators and snakes. The three-mile levee trail works for hiking, biking, and photography, and the South Florida Water Management District runs educational programs about Everglades restoration. This wetland area works for kids who can handle longer outdoor adventures and wildlife viewing. Open sunrise to sunset on weekends and Mondays only, with composting toilets available but limited facilities otherwise.
