SWA Greenway Trail System

About

Nearly six miles of hiking and biking trails wind through pine flatwoods, cypress swamps, and wetlands on this 300-acre conservation area. The SWA Greenway protects the most productive bird rookery in Palm Beach County and doubles as an outdoor classroom where kids can spot alligators, wood storks, and other native wildlife. Guided nature walks are available for school groups, with SWA educators teaching about native plants and conservation. Self-guided options include butterfly loop and rookery trail guides. Two trailheads provide access, though be prepared for occasional odors from the adjacent waste management facilities and keep your distance from the abundant wildlife.
