About

Daily tours let kids get hands-on with rescued exotic animals including sloths, capybaras, lemurs, tortoises, and anteaters. The guides are knowledgeable about each animal's story and behavior, making it more personal than a typical zoo experience. Great for kids who love animals and want close encounters you can't get elsewhere. Tours run by appointment and include feeding and petting opportunities with most animals. Wear clothes that can get muddy since you'll be walking through outdoor enclosures with limited shade.

Wellington Conservation Center is home to all unwanted, abandoned and injured animals. We care for orphaned birds, mammals and specialize in conservation of

Wellington Conservation Center is a working animal sanctuary where kids get to meet and learn about rescued wildlife like sloths, lemurs, kinkajous, and prairie dogs—and the best part is you can actually enter enclosures to pet and feed some of the animals, which is pretty unique. They offer guided tours Thursday through Monday at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM by appointment, plus special animal encounters where kids spend time with individual animals like Taco the tamandua, and everything is completely free. The tours are led by knowledgeable guides who really know their stuff and make the experience engaging for kids, and parents consistently rave about how amazing it is. They also run educational programs including summer camps and internships if your kid wants to go deeper into conservation work. Just book online to reserve your tour slot and get ready for an experience that feels way more special than your typical petting zoo.
